Wedding Profile: Alan and Lauren’s Vibrant Vibe

CS Article

Feature article in CS Brides Spring/Summer 2013

Not many bride and grooms are chosen to grace the pages of CS Brides publication, but we are always proud when they choose newlyweds ASA has had the pleasure to work with. Lauren and Alan’s sweet story is briefly touched upon in their feature article, but since we spent almost a year planning with them, we would like to expand on their story.

Their proposal story from the bride: “We met in 6th grade and quickly became close friends. By our sophomore year of high school, it became clear to both of us that we were more than just friends. We dated throughout high school and then maintained a long distance relationship throughout college. After college, we both moved back to Chicago and 3 years later we planned an early summer getaway to San Francisco. Little did I know, Alan had suggested this trip knowing that he wanted to propose some place special. On the second day of our trip, we took a bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. When we stopped in the middle of the bridge to take some pictures, Alan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.”

Melissa Samek from Clementine Events introduced us to Lauren and Alan and the connection was instant! Lauren described her dream of poppy yellow tones to dominate the reception and her classically styled bouquet to reflect her modesty. Quickly we learned that our “dream team” was to include the talented photographer Tammy Leathem. From the images you can see why we were excited about the wedding day!

The bouquets were filled with textural ranunculus, pin-cushions, roses, and orchids.

The day was simply magical with a photo tour starting around Chicago and on to an intimate ceremony at The Wit Hotel’s iconic ballroom. Lauren dressed in Vera Wang with asymmetrical layers and a unique horsehair trim. The bridesmaids were given the choice of styles from J Crew’s bridal line in hues of gray. The yellow floral simply “popped” off the dresses, while Lauren’s bouquet was a traditional mix of yellow and white open garden roses with accents of silver dusty miller.

Submerged Collection ASA transformed the tables into unique displays of vibrant lemon yellows contrasting clean, modern silver metal containers and glass. From the Head Tablesbride: “Our reception space was equally breathtaking, with a lemon-filled centerpiece on the place-card table, a variety of submerged floral collections on dining tables, and magnificent Onicidium orchid pieces on the feasting tables.”

We weren’t surprised when the news came from CS that Lauren and Alan’s wedding story was apart of this issue. A beautiful storybook wedding featuring an amazing couple.
